{7 Months}

My sweet baby girl is 7 months!! I can't believe it. She's at such a fun stage, sitting up like a pro, rolling over from side to side, and back scooting her way across the floor. Not to mention her baby coo's, babbles, and even squeals so loud at times it's a bit shocking her tiny body can be so loud. She's definately getting more mobile and I'm afraid to admit that probably by the next post she'll either be crawling or close to. And I'm NOT prepared for that at all. I haven't even began thinking about baby proofing the house, sadly I think I keep putting it off on purpose because it makes me sad she's gotten so big already.

Working full-time has kept me busy (more busy than I'd like) but it's also been a good thing. Every day off, any spare time I'm hanging out with my daughter and I wouldn't have it any other way. I swear by the time I've worked my three shifts for the week she's learned something new, or outgrows an outfit (okay maybe I'm exaggerating the outfit, but the girl is learning every second!)

I have to say she's quite the daddy's girl too. Jimmy is such a great dad, and I'm so thankful for that! He's with her every single day, and today is the first day he's EVER been away from her. I know he misses her like crazy.

At 7 Months Teyha-

*steadily sits up and turns her head around to faces/noices.

*rolls over from side to side

*sleeps on her side at night (and recently sleeps on her belly kinda freaked me out at first but the doc said it's totally fine because she is so strong at sitting up and pushes herself up when on her belly)

*loves sticking out her tongue

*smiles and goes crazy when she sees me or jimmy when we've been gone for awhile

*fights going to sleep, and boy can she throw a fit haha

*Eats 3 TBSP rice AM and PM and 2 TBSP of fruit in the morning, and 2 TBSP veggie at night. Drinks about 4 oz breastmilk or as jimmy calls it 'magic milk'. haha.

*She's got 2 TEETH on the bottom. She popped the first one christmas eve, and the second one has slowly made its way out over the past month.

*she grasps like she's holding on for dear life. And it hurts!

She's growing like a weed. Love her to pieces!!

{6 Months!}

Our baby girl is 6 months!! I can hardly believe it. She's a ball of fun and I love spending every second with her. Everyone keeps telling us "This is the fun stage"....agreed, but really I've loved every stage so far.

{Christmas}

Teyha got to spend Christmas with both families. She woke up Christmas morning so happy and smiling away--she seemed to like all the gifts too as she pulled the paper off and slobbered over it all. I thought we spoiled her by getting a "few" gifts, mostly toys, but she got more than she needed haha. We came home with more fun new toys, books, and seriously over 25 new outfits (yikes!) My favorite gift was a set of four story book scriptures, and I'm so excited to be able to read them to her!

We had Teyha's handprint done on a ceramic ornament that got professionally glazed and fired...it turned out so cute! Both grandparents loved their gift. Our time spent in Orem we took advantage of the babysitters and hit up a movie, Sherlock Holmes is must-see (in my opinion). Sadly, most of our break was spent sick. First it was me, Jimmy followed and then Teyha popped a tooth which was a miserable day. Overall it was a fun first Christmas with baby girl and I'm so sad its over.

Taryn and I threw a Christmas party on the 15th. We did bread bowl soup bar, ugly sweaters, white elephant gifts, and minute to win it Christmas games! Heather and TJ, friends currently living in Portland, got to come and party too. It was so good to see them, I can't believe it's been over a year and half since we all went on the cruise. (We're due for another friends vaca too...wonder where we'll go??) The white elephant gifts were a crack up! And the Minute to Win It game tourney turned out great. It was such a blast. I want to do this EVERY year.

Before we had Teyha I didn't think there was much to blog about our boring day to day life usually spent either working, going to school, and ending the day watching TV or reading a good book. That's all changed. I want to BLOG everything about this little girl. How can you not really? They change so fast! This morning when I was feeding Teyha all I could think was how small she used to be. Her feet barely reached past my arm and now her feet dangle over the boppy, and she bangs her foot against the rocker! She's coming on 6 months..yikes! I'm not ready to say she's yet again another month older. But I guess there's an upside...we get to try new things! We started her on rice cereal on month 5. This was her first feeding. It ended up all over her, me, Jimmy and the bumbo haha.

She just wanted to suck on the bowl : ) She met Santa at the Jubilee of Trees. Surprisingly, she didn't cry. Helping dad decorate her FIRST CHRISTMAS TREE. Happy 25th Birthday mom! We're so excited for CHRISTMAS!!

She's 5 months today! Unbelievable. Its hard to believe she came into this world on a beautiful summer day and now it's winter season. Her personality is really starting to blossom and not to mention she can now roll over and sit up by herself. She sits steady for awhile until her arms get flailing around and loses her balance to tumble over. Teyha Skye we love you to pieces!!

This sweet baby girl brightens our day all the time. This Thanksgiving holiday I'm probably more thankful for life than ever before. We love her so much, and feel so blessed for a growing, healthy baby. Speaking of growth....here were her 4 month stats!

Teyha been pulling herself up in the tub (there's a little stump underneath too that kinda props her up) with the help of the newborn netting she sits up and will not lay back. I knew this was coming sooner or later.

Teyha's first HALLOWEEN! We obviously were a little too excited to dress her up. She actually had 2 costumes haha. Partly because we couldn't agree on one, couldn't resist! She was a cute little cheerleader for our ward Halloween party. (MY costume of choice!) TOO cute! Jimmy actually picked out the bow surprisingly?? I need to give him more credit

I don't know, we have this thing with monkey's, before she was born we picked just about every outfit with monkeys, so it was fitting! Grandma Virginia loved this so much that we opened a package in the mail and she had already bought it haha!

First TRICK or TREAT stop...stopped by aunt Nat's work We had Taryn & Bode over for dinner. These two of course were a hit! They are SO CUTE!! (Isn't Chesney's costume adorable?!)

We did make a few trick-or-treat stops to some neighbor friends. Had to show her off (okay..maybe I wanted some candy too)

It's hard to believe FOUR months ago today Teyha was born. She's getting quite the little personality each day. Oct. 8th scout was jumping on grandpa hillegas and Tey apparently thought it was hilarious...she literally giggled for like 10 minutes straight, she had us all begging for more! Sadly, Jimmy missed out he was elk hunting. She's still sleeping like a champ (and now without feedings at night, yay!) And she's officially sleeping in her own room and crib. We've had a hard time adjusting but it hasn't even phased her (thankfully!) She brightens our day EVERY day, and we're fortunate to have such a healthy, happy girl!!

Oh yes, she EATS and drools on everythingMy little peanut is 4 months old! LOVE her so MUCH!!

4th month tid bits: -She is always eating her hands, toy, dad or mom's arm, even the arm of the bumbo. We'll look over at her and she'll be hunched over sucking the on the bumbo haha! -She makes a loud sucking noise with her lips which I think she likes because she does ALL the time. -Likes being rocked to sleep sitting up (used to be sideways in the cradlehold) -She can hold her rattle and shake it around for a sec before it falls. -LOVES her baby einstein music! -Lastly, I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself. I'm still nursing her (not the easiest thing working full-time 12 hr shifts with an hour commute) She's done great from the get-go BUT as she's getting older and more alert to her surroundings she'll get a little distracted which was our only issue for awhile there but it was a quick fix and she's done great! *Our doctor's appointment is next week and I'm so excited to see her growth charts. I'm guessing she's around 15 lbs now?? We'll see!

We took Teyha to the new aquatic center in Cedar last week. She loved it. She kicked like crazy, and cooed when we would put her feet over the jet bubbles. We were too excited to take her...as you can see her suit is still a little too big, but it worked! It has a float pad lined inside the suit so she looked like a turtle haha.

{FALL}

I LOVE the fall. And today is chilly and raining...seriously love this time of the year. After conference, we took a Sunday drive up on top of Cedar mountain and it is beautiful up there!! Sadly, it started to rain just as we got out to take a walk around. Jimmy decided to just keep driving and luckily the rain cleared.

PERFECT day...

Tey's first trip to the mountains 10/2/11 Amazing. Every year I always say conference is so good. And it is! Jimmy made a delicious fresh hashbrowns and cinnamon rolls sunday morning (so good!) So grateful for my beautiful little family, and the gospel. TWO things I know I cannot live without.

*PS. how exciting is it that Provo's getting another temple! : )

We blessed Teyha on Sunday. I was a little nervous that she was going to be fussy but she didn't cry at all. Jimmy did a great job! So grateful for this beautiful healthy baby girl. Her sweet little spirit is such a blessing to us. Our bishop invited us to share our testimony at the end of sacrament (no pressure) I'm glad he did though. My family came to the blessing, and I was happy that I got the opportunity to share my testimony with my family present. Thanks to family and friends for coming!

This cute babe is growing like a weed. We got together all her newborn clothes that she can no longer wear, and put them away in her closet. SAD day. I find it so hard to think that much time has passed and she's already out growing clothes and moving onto the next size. But she's a healthy girl and I guess I can't ask for much more than that! She is one very vocal girl! This is her cooing away to Jimmy. It's the cutest thing!

Early mornings are the best part of the day. She wakes up happy, and loves to hang out on the play mat. She coos at the toys, and has learned that she can touch all those colorful dangly things. Caught her cute little grin!My mom keeps asking me if we've moved her to the crib. We took a trip to Wal-Mart one day to buy some batteries for the baby monitor, and when we got to the batteries I couldn't do it. haha! I'm not quite ready for that yet. She takes her naps in her crib just FINE, so maybe breaking her into it slowly will do the trick. She sleeps 8-9 hours each night! : ) She likes tummy time now! She's getting so strong! She'll do tummy time on her mat forever : ) Still loving bath time! She owns 3 bath robes, haha! She's all smiles! This picture was taken on her 3 month mark. ** 3 month tid bits:

-She seems to do best on the playmat early mornings for awhile.

-I'll set her up in the bumbo while I get ready, she LOVES my bathroom. (Probably the bright lights?)

-She notices Scout now. She'll be sitting in our lap and Scout will be running around, and she'll try to follow Scout as she walks by back and fourth.

-I'm still nursing. It's going well! I was worried about it going back to work, but it's actually turned out so much better than I anticipated. We stay on schedule for the most part and she's gaining good weight.

-She TALKS so much. It's so fun! She'll coo something and we'll try to mimic her and she just gets louder or does a high pitched coo (My favorite!)

-Singing "I am a Child of God" soothes her to sleep in seconds : )

-We read a book everyday..I think she's getting more interested each day.

-We video chat on Google to say hi to the grandparents. She seems to enjoy seeing herself on the computer screen OR probably just a big bright screen ; )

Month 3 has been so fun! A lot of new exciting things for her and us. We love her to pieces!

September. ..Fall is on the way which means football is here. Which also means my husband will be suckering me into take out, to relax for the day, hang out with him, and OH YEAH...watch the game on TV.

Sometimes it works. I don't mind watching BYU, but every game, every school?!...um, pass!

This morning was different. He let me sleep in and I walked downstairs to this.......

Grandma Virginia came to visit today and obviously she had a good time!! My mom and sister Moggie drove down for the day to hang out with baby girl. Teyha was so good the entire day every time we go home to Fillmore my mom can get Teyha to sleep in seconds. They both were so surprised to see how much she's grown considering they last her 2.5 weeks ago. We had a fun time.

Well my maternity leave is up : ( I started a very early day when I left for work at 5:00 am to this sweet surprise. It sure helped boost my spirits! Song # 2: Foster The People "Pumped Up Kicks." Just another song I really like. Yeah...my day started off great! : ) Thank you Jimmy. He sure knows how to make my day! Well I'm back to work and the first day was so hard (I only cried once) pretty proud of myself. As hard as it is being away from my sweet baby girl....she's in good hands! Jimmy watches her on the days I work so lucky us NO babysitter : )

Teyha's growing so fast! She keeps us busy, but she makes it easy for the most part. She's starting to coo a little and smiles more and more each day. It amazes me that her little body is starting to stand up (with a little support of course). She's so strong!

{Stay-Vaca}

Our planned summer vacation ended up not turning out so well. Due to some work schedules we had to resort to plan B. Our parents left it up to us to decide what we wanted to do (keeping in mind we didn't want to have a HUGE drive with a 2 month old)....Yellowstone, Disneyland, the Oregon Coast...time was our biggest enemy here. Unfortunately, we decided to hold off for now and go later this year sometime.

Plan B: spent the week in Utah county. We had a stay-vacation! Still a nice break.

We love going home to Orem, and always feel that our visits are way too short. It was nice having more time than usual to hang around to visit with family and friends. Oh yeah--my baby sis lives up there now and is starting school in a couple weeks. Good luck sam!

Just had to post a few pics of Teyha, and her grandparents. They like to tease us that all the christmas gifts are now all for her, which I'm sure is no joke, we go home to visit and there's usually something new "they just had to buy."

I have to share one of my favorite stories. We were home in Orem visiting, Jimmy had recently re-injured his back, and literally couldn't even pick up Teyha. So while we were home Jimmy's parents came to me and said they were taking shifts. A little confused, I asked shifts? They took shifts during the night to help me with Teyha in efforts for me to catch some extra sleep. And the last night (sunday):

Jim told me, "Chelo I'm on shift tonight."

Susan overheard, and said, "No, Chelo I am." Jim, "No, honey I'll do it."

Susan, "Jim, you have work tomorrow so I'm on shift."

HAHA. So amusing. And a very sweet memory...I'll never forget.

She's growing so much (everyday it seems like). I'll look back at pictures that are like three days apart, and it's so crazy seeing the difference day by day. I'm LOVING the time I have with her during my leave from work. I hate being away from her even going to the store by myself for 15 minutes, it's going to be rough going back to those 12 hour shifts : ( As for us well parenthood is great, but often this is usually how our nights go...Jimmy rocks her to sleep, we watch the 10:00 news, and follow with Jimmy Fallon. Does this make us old and boring?! ha!

Teyha is 3 weeks today, wow! We are enjoying being with her all day, everyday! I love being a mom. She has brought more meaning into my life than ever before, and every morning we wake up I think how blessed we are! So far, there is a lot of sleeping, eating, and more sleeping and eating. I could watch her sleep forever though! She is starting to be more awake during the day, and loves being propped up in the boppy. She's definately eating well says her more rounded cheeks : ) I have to give props to my wonderful mother who raised four kids by herself. She's superwoman! I honestly cannot imagine this new life without a supportive husband. Jimmy's been such a HUGE help, and he gets me out of the house everyday. Our date night (last night) consisted of going to get me a shaved ice, and him a drink while aunt Natalie babysat for a few minutes. And it was perfect.

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays! We usually celebrate in good old Fillmore, but with a 2 week old baby we stayed home and family came to us.

Grandma bought this dress (a little big) but it was too cute to NOT wear

{Meet Teyha Skye}

She's here! {Teyha Skye Hillegas}. 6 lb 11 oz. 19 inches. Born at 3:33 pm on 6/21/11. She arrived 9 days early. Original due date was June 30th (my mom's birthday). We had a pre-natal visit the thursday before Teyha was born at 11:00 pm. That morning I was up at 7:00 am and I hadn't felt her move. Trying not to panic I got up, ate breakfast, had cold OJ, and patiently waited. I figured I'd keep waiting since we were headed to our appointment at 11:00. 11:00 rolled around and still no movement. Of course we tell my midwife right off the bat and we're ordered for a couple tests. I measured behind since 27 weeks and (that day) again still measuring small. We head over to Labor & Delivery and truthfully I was annoyed I even had to get the tests I kept saying "It'll be fine, I know it will. She'll start moving around in a bit." Now, in hindsight--how much more of an idiot could I be? Luckily, the first tests results came back normal but our midwife wanted to get follow-up tests again to be safe. We went in on the next monday morning bright and early at 7:30 am and got the ultrasound and NST. After the ultrasound we headed to L&D for the NST. (I don't know if it was screaming obvious or it was the "Nurse" in me but I didn't have a good feeling about it this time around). Our nurse walked in and I handed her our ultrasound results, and she TRIED saying calmly (but her whole body language totally didn't) "I'll be right back." Next thing we know our midwife walks in and says "Well your having a baby today!" Us: laugh....oh, really?!! REALLY!! (shocked, nervous, scared..a wave of mixed emotions at once. The day had finally arrived! My fluid level dropped way too low and LUCKILY I was term so I got induced. If it was any earlier we would have had a emergency C-section. Labor: I had been told that I'd probably have a 2 day induction because I was nowhere near having this babe. ZERO with everything. I was started off with Cytotec, by 4 pm I was still not progressing. I was sent home with a shot of morphine and vistaril to literally let me get some sleep (and eat one good meal). We then headed back at midnight. 12:05 still hadn't progressed. Dose #3 of cytotec was given, and later that morning the Pitocin was on. **And holy contractions!!** By 11:00 am the epidural was in and I was loving life. The afternoon came and I'm trying to get as much rest as I can but who gets rest in a hospital? Jimmy was dead asleep. I was drifting on and off. And my mom was sitting in the chair watching my monitors. I hadn't been checked for quite some time and next thing I know my nurse is in and shuffling things about and telling me "It's time!" Things are being set up FAST, and I'm yelling at Jimmy to wake up. Our precious baby girl was born 30 minutes later. Tears of joy streaming down both our faces as our little miracle is finally in arms. The most amazing moment of my life!

Third trimester...we made it to the end (almost). 9 months went by SO fast. Pregnancy was the best (and worse) at times...I have new sympathy for people with back problems..I measured small the entire pregnancy, and my back definately paid for it. But nothing describes the feeling of little baby's kicks, stretches, and hiccups, so amazing! I thought I'd share our last couple weeks before we had Teyha. Oh, and some of the nursery!

We wanted to go to the Temple before we had her, especially knowing it might be awhile until we could make it back. JUNE 6th....the BEST day of my life!! I married the most AMAZING man I could ever ask for. 3 years of marriage, 5 years since we first met--can't believe it! I feel SO LUCKY for this sweet, sweet, husband of mine! We're beyond excited for our baby girl due to arrive anytime!! He's so excited to meet the little one....And since today is Father's day...happy FATHERs day too babe! : )

We sure feel LOVED! Baby H got 3 super fun showers, and got some way cute things! She's definately dressed for the first six months of life : ) Thanks again friends & family!!

Shower #1 in Fillmore. Grandma and sisters decorated so cute, and my mom even made Navajo Tacos for everyone. It was such a nice day in April and so good to see old friends from high and visit with my aunts. My brother, uncles, and Jimmy went golfing while the girls were at the shower : )

Shower # 2 in Cedar City. My amazing sis-in-law threw the most fun shower with all my friends here! Baby H sure got spoiled. Baby Shower #3 in Orem. My mother-in-law also had another fun, exciting shower! Tons of yummy food, friends, and family. Too bad the weather wouldn't let up. It's amazing to me how much love/support we have from members of her ward. We were given homemade quilts, blankets, burp rags, and a rocking chair. Most of these people I have only seen once at our wedding, so I feel EXTREMELY grateful for all the fun gifts Baby H received!

We FINALLY went to Red Cliffs! Every time we drive to St. George we say how we want to go one day....my Sis-In-Law, Natalie had just been there, and she wanted to go again (and that the hike wasn't too hard--considering I was 32 weeks pregnant, and lets be honest I'm winded going up a small flight of stairs! haha) The day was perfect. It was so nice to be outside, with the fam and of course scout. SO thankful for Jimmy, he made sure I had everything I needed. Just as we started I slipped on some water and fell to my knees and of course he was freaking out because our last pre-natal class we had just been told that NO matter what when you have a fall to go to L&D to be checked (note: he's just a little more obsessively concerned thanks to the class **a good thing, but also a little too much at times**) For now, no more hikes. Just plan on getting as much R&R as I can! : )

I'm 33 weeks along now!! Crazy! We cannot believe how fast time is flying. NEXT MONTH....I remember thinking how far June seemed and now its so close. We are both more excited than ever knowing that she'll be here so soon.

are busy getting all the preparations ready for her. Grandpa/Grandma came over Mother's day weekend to help us with some deep house cleaning, shopping, and the NURSERY! My mother-in-law surprised me with the bedding set we were just about to buy. Its SO cute! She told me she never had a nursery with Jimmy, and she wanted to do it for me...she's seriously the best! I've learned so much from her that I hope to do the same for our baby girl.

n other news: Jimmy finished up another semester, and I'm so proud of his hard work! I'm surviving work, I recently moved from night to day shifts. Its been a good adjustment, nice to feel normal again! Working 12 hour shifts are little more tiring but I'm surviving!! I have only 8 days of work left for May, and plan on working all the way through June until she comes : ) Oh yeah, I think we're all done getting ultrasounds. At first we found out I was measuring small, then even smaller my next appt, and after the 2nd ultrasound had to look into more things relating to her growth, well HAPPY TO SAY: she is in the 55th percentile, weighing and growing just as she should be!! I glad we don't have to get any more ultrasounds but sad at the same time. Being able to see her over the past month every week has been so FUN! Just seeing her little features, and movements is beyond a doubt the craziest, most surreal experience SO we can only imagine how much more we'll feel when she's in our arms!

Life has been moving along faster and faster each day its seems like lately. We cannot believe in just three short months our baby girl will be arriving! : )

We had a prenatal appointment last week, and I was 27 weeks (now 28) and I'm measuring small at 23 weeks...we got scheduled to get an ultrasound to make sure she's growing healthy.

Good news is that everything checked out fine (so far)..SHE'S GROWING STRONG! Such a relief!! We feel very blessed to know that she's right where she should be!

Aside from the worried feelings going into the ultrasound, we were SO EXCITED to see her again (normally, we wouldn't have gotten another ultrasound after the 18-20 week to find out the sex).

We were so excited to see her face this time! Last time she wouldn't show it for anything. Seriously LOVED seeing her face. She was swallowing and yawning like crazy, and the tech was able to capture the cutest pics! This top pic is her foot stretched clear up to her head. The next one is her mouth/nose (kinda gotta look sideways if you can't tell) SHE'S SO CUTE!!!!

A little catching up to do!

February 27--Jimmy's birthday! I made his birthday dinner and at his request he wanted--spaghetti?!? We went to St. George for the day earlier, and as I was making dinner I realized why we he bought $8.00 stick of real Parmesan cheese. Yes, he wanted spaghetti just to try it with the gourmet cheese he bought, haha.

Birthday dessert

My best friend, Marcie got married in Vegas. Her, Amber, and I grew up together. Crazy--I remember being in elem. school and playing at each others houses! Her wedding was so nice! So happy for her!!

Jimmy and I had been wanting to take a little GETAWAY TRIP to Vegas before Baby H arrives, and it all worked out perfect--I had a week off work and so after the wedding we stayed for the whole weekend and it was well needed break!

We did some shopping, walking, lunch with friends, but MOST of the trip was spent hanging out at Aunt & Uncle house playing with scout in the pool. Sounds lame...but we had so much FUN!! Jimmy played with scout in the water because the pool actually wasn't warm at all (hence his wet suit) but the sun was SHINING, and I definately enjoyed laying on the beach chair soaking up the nice vegas weather. SO RELAXING....

We were talking, and saying how crazy it is that this will probably be our last trip with just the two of us. It was so nice just doing something for US, but we're so excited for the new addition!! I imagined our next trip when she's here, and SMILE knowing that her little carseat will be back there, and all the stuff we'll have to pack for her--looking forward to this next chapter!

Sunday, February 20th 2011.............the day I finally FELT this little GIRL!!!!! Yay. We were driving home from Orem, and I thought I could feel something "different," and so was I was feeling my belly, and then felt her kick, move, some type of movement. I yelled so loud, and scared Jimmy half to death haha. He pulled off the freeway...I was like 'what are you doing?' and he was like 'I want to feel her!' I just laughed. It was so cute of him, but at the same time I couldn't believe it! It was the neatest thing yet SO different, but glad to say it feels real now, and I finally feel preggo! So far......I've mostly felt those little flutters, and I'm so happy to know she's in there moving around and don't have to see an Ultrasound to believe it : ) *I pretty much look the same until I hit 20/21 weeks. I just wanted to post these for me to remember.

19 weeks...GIRL!!!

This is 20, but pretty much 21 weeks! And wow. I remember I woke up in the afternoon (I worked the night before) and I was laying on my back and yep it was no longer flat. It was round, and tight. CAME out of nowhere.

We went to Orem/Fillmore over this past weekend for an early "BIRTHDAY weekend." We had plans to go play for the day in Park City, but the weather changed that : (

We ended up going to a movie, and ate dinner at La Jolla Groves (so good!!) And as we made our way back to our car we were walking through riverwood shops, and found ourselves at Provo Beach Resort. We played a game of croquet, shot some hoops, and skee-ball! It was so fun. Jimmy and I shot hoops against each other a MILLION times because I was determined I was the better shooter...not the case. What the heck? I played ball in school. haha.

(But he deserves the credit he plays basketball 6:00 every morning, and is so faithful to it.

Then it was onto Fillmore, for mom's NAVAJO TACOS. We got to see my neices (gosh their so big) My sisters made the best cake, and I think I ate more than him ; )

**Weekends are never long enough.......

I'm so grateful for our family. Their the best. We love going home!

{20 Weeks, Half Way Already?!}

Some days we feel like she's not coming SOON enough, and other days we feel like she could stay inside forever.I hit 20 weeks this week.....THE HALFWAY MARK!! Yikes, I can't believe it really. Knowing since 5 weeks and now at 20...has flown by! Now all we can think about how fast June/July will be here?! Mixed feelings really...I cannot wait to hold this little girl, but I'll be honest thinking about her tiny, fragile body makes me so nervous/scared/unprepared. I'm so thankful for such an amazing husband!! He always knows the right things to say to make me smile, laugh, or make a bad day good. I feel like I'm just a stress-ball right now, and I swear nothing makes him stressed (well besides his accounting class right now haha) *I'm a worry wort...my entire family always tells me to relax, and our last prenatal appt. she asked me if I had any other questions...because she knows I worry! Lol. Is that a bad thing? Maybe. All I can say is thank goodness for a better half! Jimmy helps me to keep things in perspective, and I love him even more for it.

And he's so anxious for our little girl to arrive. He bought her two outfits the other day! I laughed because I haven't even bought her anything YET??! One of the outfits says, "daddys sweet." Of course, he'd pick that one ha! I still haven't felt any MOVEMENT?!! I'm hoping soon! I'm so inpatient because I want Jimmy to feel her MORE than anything!

We went to the stake Valentine's dance on friday. Such a good time!

{The Projects Begin...}

The best part about finding out what your having is being able to FINALLY start planning : ) So...I have a lot of ideas, and hope to finish all my goals before baby girl arrives. I got a sewing machine for my birthday, and took a sewing class in December. For christmas I got a huge sewing book, and I finally put them to good use. I sewed this baby blanket on Sunday with my friend Taryn. It looks like it was so easy to make, but trying to read a pattern, sewing mitered corners, and trying to stay in straight lines, etc....it was a little challenging haha. We worked on it all day (keep in mind we're by no means experts thus taking HOURS to finish) but we were determined, and FINISHED! *Jael would be so proud of us ; ) And....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

It was so fun, and I LOVE that my friend Taryn is preggo too haha. We're only due a month apart. I can't wait for all our other sewing parties ; )

And couldn't be more happy. I must admit I had this feeling it was a boy, haha. Not that it makes a difference, but this little girl is going to be so FUN. We just can't wait to meet her (already)!

Today was a great day. BOTH my mom's, father-in-law, and my hubby were all there during the ultrasound. I know the grandparents to be are more excited than ever!!

Luckily, she cooperated enough to find out the sex, but she would NOT show her face. She was holding her head, and had her back turned towards us the whole time. The best part was the very END of the ultrasound.......right when we were wrapping it up, our tech said, Oh look! She's moving her hand, and SHE GAVE A THUMBS UP and just held it there!! It was so FREAKIN cute!

I thought I'd give a little pregnancy update. So far....... *2nd trimester (so much better) I feel great! *The belly's getting bigger. I feel like I'm not really showing, but it's slowly coming along (as my pants are definately more snug) *Cravings-I just eat whatever sounds good : ) *Officially cannot hold a bladder for anything haha. *I haven't felt this BABY move yet....I think a flutter? But honestly, I can't tell. *Names? Boy-yes! Girl-no. Although, no matter what it is our family has already nicknamed it, peanut. *BOY or GIRL??.........we find out this friday! little BABY hillegas is on the way!!! We surprised our family over Thanksgiving, and of course their all super excited!

I wanted to wait til Christmas day to share the news, but after seeing our little peanut for the first time....just couldn't hold it in! : ) We feel so blessed, and know that things happen on the Lords time. We've been planning for awhile, and it definately hasn't been an easy road to say the least but one thing we know for sure is that the timing couldn't be any more PERFECT! So...........currently I am 12 weeks : )

Lastly, I just LOVE my husband more than anything! He's been such a trooper dealing with my sickness, and if you know Jimmy there's nothing he can't stand more than needles, and vomit : )Yesterday we saw peanut's cute little forming body, it's little arms and legs just moving around like crazy...and as I was looking at the screen my sweet husband just kept leaning over and kissing my cheek...not a better feeling in the world!!

October in a nutshell.... Awhile back my friend Jael and I decided our dogs needed to have play dates! BEST IDEA EVER! We took Toka and Scout went up to the new reservior in Cedar, and it was so fun. Taryn had a Halloween get together at her house. We had chili/cornbread, and carved pumpkins. And we decided to keep it simple (considering my experience last year haha!) We've been trying to get out with scout as much as possible before winter really sets in... Jimmys been coyote hunting (gross)... On another note: We put up the CHRISTMAS TREE last night!! I know crazy huh?! But between work, and being out of town the next two weekends I really dont have any time to do it, so its up. Jimmy wouldn't let me decorate just yet, and trust me him even letting it get out of the box was a pretty big deal! SO FREAKIN EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

Last week we went up north to visit Jimmy's parents (who are currently in the finishing process of remodeling) of course, we went to help with some last minute things. We also went to the BYU game IN THE RAIN! I'm not gonna lie, I wasn't too thrilled. The rain held up for most of the game, and well I had hot chocolate and things were much better ; ) Here are some pictures as of lately... Scout so cute when she's tired and all snuggly Jimmy comes home from class one day after a presentation, and I snapped this photo because I couldn't help myself. He looks so good and all professional : ) So back to us helping out his parents...they added onto their pantry room (which by the way is absolutely amazing! I can't wait to one day have a gigantic room for food storage) Anyway, they gave us their old food consolidators and we love it! Usually how it goes in the house, I delegate and he does the work, Lol! Jk. He was a trooper, these things were not all that easy when your given every single piece, SEPARATE. The much more ORGANIZED pantry. I forgot to take a before photo, but trust me the bottom two shelves had all our cans stacked all over the place. I feel all homemaker-ish now : )

Couple thoughts today... You know that saying you hear ALL THE TIME when your in school "keep working hard, it'll all be worth it in the end." I find being a nurse is very stressful, and BUSY (at times!) Especially my job. Lately, I've been working as charge nurse--hello! I'm NEW and often I feel so inadequate. But I'm learning and growing. On average I have about 20-30 patients, I know right? Its less when I charge, but still thats alot! So you get the point now, at least I hope. Back to my saying earlier...YES, it is all WORTH it in the end! Last week I received this Thank You card from one of my patients family that I took care of quite a bit. Getting that card was reassurance, and that day was one reason that I LOVE being a NURSE. I cant describe the feeling I had when I saw who the card was from. I had to edit out the name, HIPPA regulations.. Onto another note. I cannot even say how much I just LOVE my husband!!!! The other day I got home from work and when I woke up....I woke up to homemade fresh baking bread! I absolutely adore that he has such a passion for cooking. I'm dead serious when I say passion. Constantly, he's recording The Food Network and the Cooking Channel, buying Rachel Ray/Food Network magazines EVERY month, and telling me all these ideas he has when it comes to food. It actually makes me feel like a horrible cook because my meals are never great or seasoned like his. He's so patient with me, and always reminding me that I can start out small (grilled cheese is what I made HAHA!!) anyway, I'm extremely grateful for being able to help each other out where one of us is lacking otherwise I'd 500 pounds from eating out everyday! The bread he made...it was so good!! Well life has been moving along, and I'm currently enjoying my 6 days off of work!! Not a single vacation day used either, just the way my schedule worked out. I've been catching up on some good reads--Hunger Games, Even Silence Has an End (true story, & amazing story!) and The Girl With Dragon Tattoo. ANyone have any other good reads?

Oh my GOSH. Has it really been 5 years?! Yep! So....I went home for my 5 year high school reunion. We had a volleyball tournament, and dinner at the paradise. Volleyball was so fun! I had my old team together minus a few, and we quickly realized how much we sucked haha...but honestly we all just laughed so hard and had the best time! Sammy and I went to watch the Millard Eagles play against So. Sevier and they won! A weekend down memory lane...life sure fly's by and sadly it just seems to go by faster the older I get, why?!!

Our last vacation for the summer was spent in LAKE POWELL!! We went with our friends and their "friends of friends" so by day two we had 30 people on the houseboat. A little crazy, but definately made for some good times. Lake Powell was awesome, and we seriously had so much FUN! We played in the water all day, sun bathed, and slept underneath the stars every night....doesn't get better than that! ....So here's our adventures in LP. **Lake Powell 2010** **Tubing-oh my gosh so fun and hilarious to watch people catch some air/fall off** **Jumping off the houseboat (this picture is me with all the guys trying to get me to jump off its only about 8-9 feet but I just couldnt do it. So my first time I'm standing on the edge and as I'm about to jump I get PUSHED OFF!!! I was so mad, so I marched back up and tried again after a good 2 hours I FINALLY did it haha** **We took the waverunners out for a spin** **Yes, I attempted to WAKEBOARD. Its a lot harder than it looks. I only ate it a million times, but I did get up for a SECOND, and then I was done. PS my body was so freaking sore the next couple days! **On the beach playing a game similar to horseshoe I guess? Not sure what its called? It was very addicting to say the least. **Boating** **Cliff Jumping. And yes I jumped. We all jumped. SO AWESOME!!** **Dan, Andrew,Megan, Jimmy, Kimmy, and Me** Summer 2010 has been amazing. Loving this life!

I FINALLY painted my wicker shelf! My mother-in-law bought this for us when we first got married, and I've been wanting to do something with it forever and since I only work 3 days a week I've had a little extra time on my hands. I used All Things Thrifty spray painting tips, and it turned out WAY better than I thought it would. It looks so plain, but seeing it person makes such a difference. It just stands out from everything else in my living room. Also I cant find my camera charger so these pictures are from my phone and their not the best, but they'll do I guess : ) I'm currently re-doing our kitchen table, its a much bigger work in progress!! BEFORE AFTER CLOSE UP And this is what my dog did during the middle of my project, seriously! So I had to do a little improvising. I've got a picture, and some vases to fill up the space. Dumb dog haha. but I still love this pup! : )

We took a drive up Cedar mountain yesterday. Jimmy took me to show me where he was going to hunt this year (but I think he just wanted to look for deer on the way) because he brought his spotting scope and binos. The ride up was a bit scary...I'm scared of high places, but I'm even more terrified of high places when your driving up a mountain literally on the edge. We stopped at the "C" overlook and the view was so pretty! Afer 4 and half years of living in cedar I've never been up there, but I'm glad we did the view was so pretty! We watched the sunset and it was the perfect Sunday drive! here's some pics we took...

We're loving the summer! On my days off I love going out back, laying down my blanket on the grass, and having a good read! I just started reading Les Miserable (Jimmy gave me the book for Christmas last year, and I'm just barely getting to it.) So along with many other TO DO's for the summer this is one of my goals to finish by the end of the summer (Hey, it s a big book give me a break you book worms!! haha) I take scout out with me and she runs around. As she's getting bigger she is also getting so much ENERGY! Its funny sometimes but most of the time its annoying. Work is going good. Weird I've been a nurse for 6 months. I still feel so inadequate but I havent killed anyone yet so good news : ) As for Jimmy, my poor babe is swimming in homework every day every second! The month of July hasn't been the best time for us to spend time together, but he always makes sure to get date night in every week! He never forgets. Its so cute. On another note, I've been faithfully watching my favorite summertime show, So You Think You Can Dance. OH yes, I LOVE it!! So sad Alex is hurt. I hope Kent wins! ; ) What else? I've been trying to be a little more creative lately. I'm about halfway through some of my craft projects, and CANNOT wait til its all done. I went to the Fillmore for the 4th of July! I was so excited to go (last year we were on our way to the coast, and it was the first time I had missed my home towns celebration since I was born!) I'm not gonna lie, its the BEST place to be on the 4th! Its always fun to see someone you havent seen in years, and it was great to catch up. I was most excited to my BFF's new baby boy! Rendon is such a cutie Kacie! My family and I bbq after the parade and hung out for the day. And....my favorite part...FIREWORKS!! We headed down to our "family spot" on the baseball fields, and watched the fireworks. Fun. Fun. BBQ steaks. Thats right all you vegetarians...eat your heart out... haha! Last weekend we had a family reunion on the FARM in....where else??? DELTA, UT! HAHA. I finally met the rest of the fam. It was good to see everyone again!

Its almost 3:00 AM...and I cant sleep. Workin night shifts are finally catching up to me I guess. So...I've been up reading past Ensign talks, and while I was reading I had a feeling to look something up on lds.org website. I looked it up, and found it. And just before I was about to log off saw this video and watched it. I cried. Good-Things-to-Come I dont have many moments like this. Moments that I find myself (in tears)...up at 3:00am but today I know there was a reason. As brother Holland says, "In that imaginary instant, I couldn't help calling out to him: Dont you quit. You keep walking. You keep trying. There is help and happiness ahead. Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some dont come until heaven....it will be alright in the end." Just what I needed to hear right now. "...Believe in Good Things to Come."

JUNE flew by for us so quick! I swear it was just our anniversary, and now it's July?!?! June was a busy busy month. We were out of town every weekend besides Fathers Day. Jimmy's family came down and stayed over fathers day weekend. I feel so lucky to be in their family! Their the sweetest parents, and since day one have taken me in as their own. They drove down because we had to speak in church and they wanted to hear us. Their awesome. The next weekend my sisters and I threw a surprise birthday party for my mom! It turned out great. She was totally surprised!! She about died of laughter when I pulled out a brief that people could sign on. Happy 50th to the funniest, craziest, and strongest mom!! We love you! We are loving SUMMERTIME! We've lucked out to be able to have most of the same days off, and we've definately taken advantage of it! We've been to the lake quite a bit, fishing, and to the park nearly everyday with Scout. *This is scout at Utah Lake, and as you can see Jimmys been training her.

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary last weekend by going to Salt Lake Bee's game and a wonderful delicious Cheesecake Factory dinner! I counted going on the cruise ENOUGH...but Jimmy wanted to have a little getaway. Its funny, I feel like we sort of re-lived our honeymoon because when we got married we went to Disneyland and a Cubs game. We went to D-land before the cruise, and then to a baseball game. We took Scout on a walk up to Bridal Veil, she loved it! Scout is getting so big, and so fun to have around, but I swear she's depressed---When we left for the cruise our Aunt in Vegas watched her, and Melinda has a huge yard with a pool, palm trees, etc so she was spoiled, and now she's a mope haha. I'm posting this late, but awhile we went to Zions for a hike! This is Jimmy's uncle John, and Natalie. It was fun and definately a way to kick off the summer!

{Cruise'n Mexico!!}

Our vacation started out by a day in Disneyland! We went there for our honeymoon, and I still cant believe its ALMOST been 2 years?! Our cruise to Mexico was so FUN!! It was such a long awaited vacation and it all was totally WORTH it! Our first stop was Puerto Vallerta. We took about an hour drive up into the mountains and did the ZIP LINE! You cant tell in our pics, but I was TERRIFIED! At the beginning I was shaking & was very hesistant to take off, but after awhile I was fine. The last line which was 1/2 mile long I went UPSIDE DOWN..it was awesome! The next day was Mazatlan. We spent the day at the beach bathing in the sun, and boogie boarded! Boogie boarding was the best, we loved it! Cabo San Lucas! Cabo was definately our favorite. It is so PRETTY! The ocean was so clear. We took a boat out to Lovers Beach, and saw the "famous" Cabo Arch. Jimmy & Bode got a little sea sick, but other than that it was so neat. Heather, Taryn and I went PARASAILING...seriously it was the best! The view was gorgeous! We want to go back!! We didnt have much time to spend in Cabo, but the time spent was well worth it. We watched the sunset almost every night of the cruise. This was probably one of my favorite parts! There is nothing better than watching the sunset on the ocean!

I "officially" graduated on May 1st. It was such a great experience. It was so fun to be walking with all the people I consider my "2nd family" it was the best! Even better, I had a lot of support from family! I had an uncle drive from Washington, and two aunts who drove from New Mexico, and more family that made a 4-5 hour drive the day of graduation from Las Vegas and Logan. I'm so grateful for my awesome family, and appreciate all the love!! .fRIENDS. .Mom, & Aunties. .My hubby. .gOt my Diploma. .gRaduated with HONORS (Magna Cum Laude!!) & my beautiful leis Jimmy gave to me!! .fAmily dInner at Chilis, .Sisters. {New Ride!!}

This is our new ride...2008 Honda Accord!! This was well overdue, and we LOVE it! We bought it a couple weeks ago, and its so nice! I'm especially loving it because my old car was freakin GHETTO!! (But hey, it got me through college with NO car payment) SO after a few years of patiently waiting it feels GOOD to have a nice (reliable) vehicle, unfortunately that means we have another BILL!! Its okay though. On another note, we're leaving on the cruise so SOON!! We're actually heading down a couple days before and staying in Vegas then heading to Cali for Disneyland & a baseball game--woo hoo!! Cant wait!

Just a little update of our recent happenings.... Since I've finished school things have been much different, NICE, but different. Like tomorrow for example, while we were planning our week out to figure out a day for date night Jimmy told me he had monday off of work and I got so excited and looked forward to a date we've been planning...Oh but wait he then says "Chelo, its finals!" HAHA! I totally spaced that finals are HERE! Its just so weird being out of that phase of life (for now). Anyway, since February I've been working full-time (3 nights a week,) 6pm-6am. It was hard adjusting at first, but now its much easier and getting better each day! Unfortunately I have to drive 40 minutes south, but its been good and SO NICE to be on my own (FINALLY!) No preceptor, no student nurse badge, just me! Definately not the ideal job, but you got to start somewhere right?! For now, its a job and grateful for that!! Scout has been a blast to have around. I love coming home & seeing how excited she gets to see us. It was a little stressful at first getting up every few hours at night to take her outside to go to the bathroom, working out our schedules to make sure she gets fed, and traveling is not the same! Its a good responsibility and has sort of given us a taste of what it would be like to have a REAL baby, but for now this puppy suffices! ; ) haha! Sunday Walk Off for another day of work Scout

Just giving a quick shout out to our besties...Jorg & Kara!! Kara and I were in the nursing program together, and Jimmy met Jorg through another friend. (Funny story--Kara and I really never hung out together OUTSIDE of school until our husbands became friends, but once we all started hanging out we've had SO much FUN!!) We feel so LUCKY to be surrounded by such great friends..even better when the wives & husbands have so much in common! A few weeks ago we went down to Mesquite for the weekend. We had a blast! Scout is our new puppy! She is so cute & fun!! We just got her over the weekend, and she is doing well here in her new home. I cant believe how smart she is too--she must have started to potty train with the guy we got her from because she KNOWS when she has to go, and so far so good! Jimmy's wanted a dog forever, ever since he was little kid but his parents aren't really animal people so this was a DREAM come true for him. He's always wanted to name his first dog Scout too, so thats how we got it. I didnt have much of a say in it. Well life is just moving along, too fast actuallY! I cant believe its gonna April already-geesh! We've been pretty busy lately between work and school that seems to always keep us busy...but last week we moved (AGAIN) into Cedar Park Townhomes. We're so glad our ward came over and helped us move it was much appreciated! There's a few pics here of our place for now (as you can see its still in boxes, but its coming along!) My hubby is taking me on a CRUISE to the MEXICAN RIVERIA!!!!!!!! I'm SO FREAKIN stoked...I can hardly contain myself! Actually my good friend Taryn invited us back in November and Jimmy decided that it would be my gift for graduating!! I've been on a cruise before with a bunch of friends and it was a blast...I think thats why I'm SO excited for this vacation because we're going with three other couples! Its a 7 day cruise to CABO SAN LUCAS, MAZATLAN AND PUERTO VALLERTA!!!!! SO...our passports are in and we are so excited and definately ready for summertime to get here! THANKS babe! SO excited!!

Junior Prom in my small home town is sort a big deal, the entire junior class learns a choreographed dance to perform the night of prom! Jimmy laughed at me when I told him about Millard High's floor show, he thought I was kidding. The theme was "An Evening in Egypt." They had it all decorated so cute! One side of the gym had a huge pyramid, and it was all Egyptian inspired! I headed home to do my sisters hair, and by the time we got her all ready she looked so PRETTY!!! Last week was full of surprises for Jimmys birthday! I had a surprise birthday party at Applebee's with our good friends. Since I've known Jimmy we've always gone to dinner at Chili's for his birthday, little different this time but he still enjoyed it! Friday, I had a lil surprise set up at home for Jimmy when he got home from class. I got 30 ballons and in each one wrote 30 reasons why I love him! He was totally surprised. It was fun watching him pop open each balloon and read the little messages. We went to Vegas for the weekend with his family and celebrated!! We went shopping, ate a The Burger Bar in the Mandalay Bay. Jimmy got his wish--100 Buffalo Wild Wings haha. Its his favorite restaurant. This is the 4th birthday I've got to share with my sweetheart. I cant believe how fast time flies! My list could go on and on about this awesome guy but suffice it to say--He's such a gentlemen and always makes me feel special in the smallest ways, he is such a positive person and makes the best of any situation, and I'm so thankful for all the hard work he does for our relationship, school, and work! My family all went down to St. George (well Washington) to watch Ravyn play in her soccer tournament. Ok seriously all I can say is that I'm definately going to be that loud, crazy, annoying "soccer mom!" But this competiveness is just in my nature, I mean these are 8, 9, 10 year olds and I was on the sidelines yelling (about a sport I dont even really know anything about) and I repeatedly got told by the family to BE QUIET! haha, sorry Ravyn! We even heard my neice tell her teammate "I'm ignoring her" And if y'all want proof I've got it RECORDED...its so funny! Lately, being around my two neices I've known deep down inside that they are "growing up" but for the longest time I've refused to think so--well after today and seeing how truly EMBARRASSED she was of her crazy aunt, yep she's NO baby and well on her way to those Pre-teen years (sigh!) February 14..LOVERS DAY...to wrap it up in one word SWEET! Sweet because we really didnt give each other a budget and ironically we didnt really go all out, and the gifts we got each other were um...PERFECT!! I themed Jimmys gift around baseball (since its coming up and he wont stop talking about the Cubs) I got him a custom made CUBS sticker, and he got me some sweet swimming goggles I've been wanting! I've been swimming every morning lately and its a nice switch up from my usual workout routine. Wow, this was supposed to be a quick post but anyway hope all you LOVERS had a great valentine! To my VALENTINE: I love you! She's so cute!! I love this picture! The mountains look cool!

My father-in-law got 4 FRONT ROW tickets to the Jazz game this week. He usually gets them from work every once in awhile and usually only gets 2. Luckily, he got FOUR!! It was seriously the best game ever (partly because of the sweet tickets, but as you may know they played my favorite team PHOENIX SUNS!) I actually had NO idea they were playing them when I heard about the tickets, but as we were driving to SLC my father-in-law made me promise him one thing: to control myself haha! Me "Why?" Jim "because we're sitting right behind the SUNS team!" Me "......AH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {trying not to hyperventilate, ok I'm not that obsessed} Actually if my sister-in-law read this she would remind me how OBSESSED I really was during the game and probably would make the point that I couldnt stop taking pictures of Steve Nash-he was SO close, I mean I literally could have touched him if I tried hard haha! Ugh, I sound obsessed?? To say the least, it was an awesome game! The suns are actually sucking it up this year so I cheered for BOTH teams and more for the JAZZ towards the end because they had a pretty good comeback & won! Oh I forgot to mention...these tickets were in some Jazz club, and we had all you can eat dinner right before the game! And during halftime you got treated to even more FREE stuff---it was AWESOME!!! Definately made my top 25 list of things to do in life (only because they played the SUNS that is!) Now if only I could have front row tickets to the NBA Playoffs...with the Suns : )

I thought I felt "accomplished" when I graduated in December, but NOW I really can say I feel ACCOMPLISHED...I'm a Registered Nurse with my Bachelors!! On January 21, I took my NCLEX-RN nursing boards..and after anxiously waiting 2 very LONG days I found out I PASSED my boards! I feel so relieved!! So today, I'm doing absolutely nothing & just soaking it all up! So before my test I headed up north early (way early) to beat the snow storm (that never came, seriously the News people are full of it sometimes!) anyway...so I stayed with Jimmys parents for about a week and half. Thursday after my test I felt horrible! I took 75 questions and literally thought I had failed-that feeling I've always heard about is SO true, but thank goodness its over! As we left Draper and got back home to Orem around 3:30 pm and I was in my room when suddenly I hear "Baby..I'm here!" I turn around and see JIMMY!!! He drove 3 hours to come see me for such a short time just to be there for me. I had NO idea he was coming, and it was probably one of the best surprises of my life! Sweet huh?! Just when I think he can't do anything cuter--he does 100 times more!! Your probably wondering what I plan on doing for work?? As of right now, I havent found a job yet, but hopefully soon because I'm SO bored! I've applied to a million places it seems like but I'll keep ya posted! My lover and I the day he showed up for SURPRISE VISIT!

Christmas

We spent Christmas with both families! We were in Fillmore for the first part, and then in Orem for the last half. EVERYBODY was home which made it so FUN and special. I love waking up Christmas morning with my two neices--always reminds me of myself & sisters when we were that age! We got to Fillmore Christmas Eve, and started off with our family traditions! One of them was a game with Christmas pictures that gave clues to certain Christmas songs. The winner gets to wear special "Elf" ears on Christmas morning to pass out the gifts! Zonie was the lucky one! I LOVE my family-there's never a dull moment! Christmas at Jimmys house is always a good time! After 3 1/2 Christmas' with the HILLEGAS'...I finally found the PICKLE!!!!!! It was another intense battle with Jimmy & Natalie haha! We had so much fun..its always the worst when we have to leave! We all went up to SLC for dinner at LoneStar Steakhouse and then headed over to Temple Square to see the lights! It was the first time Jimmy and I were actually back on temple grounds since our wedding so we shared a few SPECIAL MOMENTS!! We got a camcorder for Christmas and we LOVE it! We're so excited to be able to capture NEW MEMORIES to look back on one day and REMEMBER! (Actually Jimmy's parents are convinced that the next big event to be recorded will be their first grandson HAHA---one day! ; )

Catching Up!

Hey world! I decided I would catch up on some recent events over the past few weeks. Finals week was the most hectic week of our lives--To say the least-we survived! I passed all my classes, graduated with My Bachelor's of Nursing on December 11, 2009, and recently scheduled my NCLEX (which I'm taking next month!) I can't believe two years has come and gone. I learned so much about myself and never thought I'd make it to the end, but I did! Graduating from Nursing school is probably my biggest accomplishment yet!!! This program was INTENSE! Overall it was a great experience and has given me perspective on a lot of things in the nursing world. For example- going through my clinical experiences I know WHERE I'd like to work, and being assigned to various nurses I've seen the "GOOD, BAD & UGLY." After observing and interacting with certain nurses I just KNOW what kind of NURSE I will and want to be. I'm extremely excited to get out there to help take care of others, gain experience, and have my DREAM JOB! THANKS to my lovely family, friends, and fellow nursing students!! I absolutely could NOT have done this without any of you!! Here are some pictures of our latest adventures since school got out! We've had a good time with all of our friends (we're gonna miss you Jorg & Kara!!!) SO excited for CHRISTMAS in 2 days!!!!!!!!!!!!! We went down to Vegas with our good friends Jorg & Karalee to watch BYU play in the Las Vegas Bowl! We stayed at the Monte Carlo. It was SO FUN!! The Changing of the Seasons at the Bellagio was the COOLEST thing ever!! These pictures dont do justice because you can't really see the fine detail! That polar bear is made up of REAL white carnations! And the Reindeer was made of Pecans--pretty neat! The game was FREEZING!!!!!!!!!!

As my last week of classes are wrapping up (for good!) I think I've finally realized that I'm "growing up and about to enter the REAL WORLD!!" Somewhere between getting married, about to graduate from school, applying for jobs, purchasing life insurance, and all that good stuff I guess. In all of this though our lives are ridiculously BUSY, and we feel like we're always on the go, go, GO! I had some time today to think about what means most to me in my life, and I'm SO grateful for LIFE-- It's great. It's spontaneous. It's stressful. It's worth living for!!

Without a doubt, I'm GRATEFUL for the gospel

and for these men! I LOVE them!

Shooting Range

The HUNT starts this weekend! While I've been busy with clinicals..Jimmy's been using that "spare" time to shoot his gun {endlessly!} We both had the day off today which is so RARE, but of course he had to get me out to the shooting range to show off his new gun & scope! It was FUN--I'm not around guns that much and I forgot how scared I get around them haha.

Side note-is it really October 12th? Time is seriously going by faster & faster! Its good and bad I guess...good because that means CHRISTMAS is around the corner-YAY!!! My favorite holiday! LOVE everything about it, can't wait!

Life Lately

Hey everyone! Its been awhile since the last blog update. We moved into a new apartment, and are in a new ward. We were so SAD about leaving our other ward because we absolutely loved it and grew close to many. Our new ward is great though!! We actually have alot of friends in the ward which has made the transition easier! Jimmy and I are staying BUSY with school! Jimmy has a few accounting classes, & math (ugh..dont envy him there haha), and work. He's doing so good trying to balance everything. I'm so proud of him! As for me...I'm finally a SENIOR level nursing student!! I graduate in December (YAY!!) I'll be honest at the beginning of the semester I was a little bummed about it being my last semester because I'm one of those weird kids that enjoys school (sometimes) but now that I'm a month into the semester--I'm SO ready to be done! My clinicals this semester are little different. I have a preceptor which means I take the role as if I'm the nurse. Oh did I mention that I'm working the night shift 1800-0600! Yup, 12 (more like 13) hours shifts...NOT gonna LIE its starting to kick my butt, but I'm more than halfway done with them and I've learned so much! Once I'm done with these, I have to complete 8 high acuity shifts..E.R., NICU., Cath Lab., etc. My professor is a life flight trauma nurse and I'm hoping to go over to Page, AZ...where she works at Classic & go on a flight over there!!!! We've been lucky to have time off to go up north to the BYU game & The Killers Concert the past two weekends. The concert was a BLAST!!

We went on vacation to the Oregon Coast. We left July 3rd, and came back on the 12th! What can I say..we had a BLAST!!!! This is Jimmy's family vacation they have gone on since he was 2 years old! They usually go back every couple years, and I can definitely see why! We had such a good time with the family, and wish it didn't end so quick!

We went camping last weekend for my mom's birthday. We had a blast at the Lake all day, and later that night Jimmy made some delicious dutch oven (we finally got to use our dutch ovens from our wedding!!) We went went fishing, played in the lake and got some SUN! Awhile ago my sister got her wisdom teeth out so we got a room in Provo and picked up my nieces and hung out. We went swimming and it was SO much fun! I sure miss them! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM...your amazing! I love you! We are having so much FUN this summer! We've been so LUCKY to have almost the same work schedules, and it's been nice to spend time together! We're trying to make the most of this summer before we graduate school and such... So far it's been pretty awesome!! : )

One Great Year

June 6th marked our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! One year-really?? It's gone by so fast! Our wedding day was the best day of my life! I recently went to the sealing of my really good friends, Amber & Dang, in the St. George temple! Being in that temple definately brought back some memories...going through the temple for the first time, having Jimmy and our family there with me, and knowing that in a few days I was going to be sealed for time & all eternity! As I think back to this wonderful day I think of how happy/excited/nervous I was to marry the love of my life in my favorite temple!! I can't forget my other feelings I felt so strong that day though---knowing that my family wouldn't be able to see me get married. We prepared for this day for such a long time that I knew it was going to be hard, but at the same time when we were in the temple we both were so comforted and knew we were doing the right thing. I love my family so much, and I think if anything has come out of it- it's that our family has become more closer! I'm so greatful for such a wonderful husband who does so much for me! Jimmy has such a strong testimony of the gospel, and I love having the priesthood in our home. We've learned a lot about each other over this past year, and when one of us is lacking the other picks up! I LOVE being married! We've had ONE GREAT YEAR!!! And we're looking forward to many more to come....

Jimmy and I both had the day off today! The day started off by sleeping in :D and then in the afternoon we headed to Kanarraville to hike up to the falls! It was such a nice hike! We came across a lot of wildlife (snakes, lizards, butterflies, fish & caterpillars). It was FUN to get out, and actually do something! Love ya babe!! : )

We decided we are going to take advantage of all the time we have this SUMMER...so yesterday we went fishing to Sand Hollow. It was so much FUN!! After this, we went out to Mongolian BBQ, and then got some yummy dessert at Nielsen's frozen custard..Mmm!! We got to hang out with my sister too! It feels so nice to be out of school, and we're looking forward to the summer!

Easter Weekend

Our weekend was pretty good! We didn't get to go home for Easter : ( Saturday night, we headed down to St. George to FINALLY use our gift certificate (from my bridal shower hahaha) to Red Robin! We didour usual thing when down south...Sportsmans, Costco..EXCITING news... We didn't SPEND a dime! : ) Jimmy made the most delicious BBQ porkchops, cheesy potatoes aka funeral potatoes, and grilled Asparagus! I sure lucked out..if it wasn't for Jimmy we'd live off cereal, mac-n-cheese,ramen noodle...HAHA! Poor guy---well let me back UP! I DO try to cook, but I'm dead serious when I say every time I DO something always goes wrong...take the dessert for example, I tried to make Sunday-YEP completely ruined that! It's literally stuck to the pan...Jimmy tried CHIPPIN it out with all sorts of things! Dont ask me how I managed to do this?!! Only 12 more (school) days LEFT!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait for it to all be over SOON!

First off--General Conference was SO good!! Jimmy and I were able to watch it together (finally...usually one or both of us has to work) We both enjoyed all the talks especially Elder Hales talk about provident living...just what we needed to hear! The talks that were discussed really struck home to us, and we feel our prayers were answered or at least gave us the strength and comfort to press on! I love how conference rejuvenates you!! This weekend was pretty relaxed...we're always on the go so when we actually get time together we try to find something to do! During the priesthood session, I went out with a couple of my girlfriends for LADIES NIGHT to Deseret Book (we were the first 100 in line and we got a cute picture frame about the HOME) then we headed over to Roberts and made FREE cards, played the cakewalk, and did "what's in your purse?" They asked if you had a Wal-Mart receipt and a movie ticket in your purse---and of course I did!! I got a couple of way CUTE scrapbook pages. Later on we went to dinner with a couple of our friends to Don Miguel (best mexican place in town!!) Jimmy has been SHOOTING his bow endlessly getting ready for the TURKEY HUNT! He's got his bow all sighted in so now he just shoots right outside our apartment. It's his first time for the hunt and he's EXCITED! Hope you all enjoyed conference and had a good weekend! : )

I finished my last rotation of clinicals today in St. George!! Yay! I was in Labor and Delivery today..I got to see a delivery and C-Section...it was SO freakin awesome!! This semester in the Nursing Program has by far been the most FUN!! It's all about BABIES! It's been awesome being able to learn about maternity, and going to clinicals. In St. George I got to work on the Mom and Baby Unit, NICU (neonatal intensive care unit....Oh my gosh---the babies here were SUPER tiny, I couldn't believe how small they were) and Labor & Delivery!!

Over the weekend we went up North to visit the family!! Friday Jimmy's parents took us out to "RIB CITY!" MM...It was delicious! Jim left for China the next day so it was a short visit with him. A couple of weeks ago he went to Isreal and friday night he gave us our gifts......He got us a hand-carved NATIVITY set!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh-I was freakin stoked!! How cool is that??!! Saturday we went up to SLC for the Sportsman's Expo! Of course my husband was excited to go..I swear that's all he talked about for weeks! We went up with one of Jimmy's best friend and his family. It was FUN! OH ya...we got to hold baby CUBS!!!!!! They were so CUTE!! After the expo we headed back to Orem. We had girls NIGHT!! My mother-in-law, Natalie, and I went to "COLOR ME MINE." I LOVE that place! Once we were done painting out pottery we went out to this place called, "Maestros Gelato Bar" for some gourmet HOT chocolate, and gelato ice cream!! It was SO much fun hangin out with the girls!! After a long day we all hung out at the house, and played Skip BO and boggle while Natalie treated us with her Melt-A-Way cookies....OH boy! I seriously was overloaded on SWEETS!! We always hate the part when we have to leave! It's the worst, but what can you do??!! We left Sunday, and stopped at my familia's house for awhile. AGAIN..the whole family was HOME! It was so much FUN to be with all my sisters & neices...it's a miracle when we're all together! Families are the best! I guess it's something I've learned "growing up" but I realize how much they mean to me, and we're always planning family time! *Wow...I'm starting to sound OLD or something haha. On another note: I guess this was our Spring Break getaway! We are both working for the whole break : ( SO..last year at this time Jimmy PURPOSED to me! Holy crap-time flies!!! I can't even believe how fast everything has come and gone...has really already been ALMOST a year??!!! I don't know if I should cry or smile?! It's a good thing, but it makes me SO sad to think how fast it all goes! I still feel like a NEWLYWED haha! Moving on.....we have a little over a month of school left-YAY!!!! We're excited, but I just got thinking that this is my LAST spring semester...AGAIN time flies! I graduate this fall! I love being a college student even though there have been plenty of times I wanted to quit-but I think I'm more scared of the fact that I actually am going to have to get a REAL JOB!!! I should be happy about that right?! Well now I'm just rambling...just tell me to get over it! haha.

Jimmy's 29th birthday was last week. It's kinda crazy to me to think he's that old haha, but he sure doesn't act his age! Since we've been together he has always invited all his buddies to go out to dinner, but this time it was a little more low key and it was just us. It was FUN! I got to put my cooking skills together (....stouffer's lasagna HAHA!!) I could seriously write a novel about what an amazing husband, son, brother and friend Jimmy is, but I think I'll save myself the writer's cramp and say this: "Happy Birthday baby, I love you!!"

Valentine's Day Weekend

Friday when I got off work I came home to a super clean house...how did he know that's all I wanted for Valentine's haha!! Saturday morning I woke up and Jimmy had our bags packed ready to go-WHERE...I didn't know??? SO we're driving down south and I asked him if he would tell me what we're doing if I guessed it.

Me "Are we going to St. George?"

Jimmy "Yes"

Me "Are we going to the Dinosaur Museum?"

Jimmy "Yep! We're going to dig for fossils"

Me "Oh my gosh are you SERIOUS...(if any of you didn't know this I've wanted to do this for quite some time HAHA, I know I'm kinda lame like that!)

After we passed the last exit of St George that's when he decided to tell me that he was taking me to Las Vegas for two days to go SHOPPING!!! Our weekend in Vegas was a BLAST! He planned it all (hotel, dinner, and shopping) It was fun just spending time together and not having to deal with school for a couple days...it was nice! I love my Jimmy! Thanks babe!!

Special Day

We went up north over the weekend for my neice's baptism. I seriously can't believe how fast these two munchkin's have grown! Their not even my own, and I wish they'd stop growing up so fast haha. Her baptism was great!! Our whole family was there, and Ravyn's step-dad gave the most beautiful blessing EVER-we we're all in tears! After the baptism Jimmy and I went to the Open House of the new Draper Temple. We were so excited to go, and I really wish my family could have come up with us. The temple is SO beautiful!!!!! I'm hoping we can go again to take my family...I think it would be so awesome for them to go and see where we were married! On another note we are surviving life! We're managing to handle the stressors of school, work, and everything else it seems like. I get super stressed over the smallest things, and if it wasn't for Jimmy I would be a basket-case! He is so good to let me know when I need to take a break.

CHRISTMAS

We spent Christmas this year with both families! It was so fun to be with them during this special time, and we're so thankful that we were able to get time off from work. We went to fillmore first and then headed up to Orem! It was kinda weird not having my neices with us on christmas day to wake the family up at the crack of dawn haha.

Our first christmas is one we'll never forget! We had so much fun with our families and of course all our NEW toys! : ) Hope y'all had a good one!!

I have been ridiculously buried in nursing textbooks trying to get ready for finals, and life has just been BUSY! On Saturday (Dec. 6th) my sweet husband came home with flowers, and took me out to dinner for our SIXTH month anniversary....haha isn't he so cute? I totally spaced it. I can't believe how FAST time flies....seriously we've been married for 6 months-sure doesn't feel like it! Marriage is the best! (Sorry to get all mushy on everyone...you get the point!)

We went to Fillmore the day of Thanksgiving because we had to work the whole break. We had a good time with the fam though! Afer we had the big feast we headed up the shooting range, and it was a blast. Later that day Jimmy and I went up and cut down our FIRST christmas tree!! It was so much fun! Well finals are right around the corner so we're both pretty busy studying and we're way excited to be done with the semester! (It's been a rough one.)

You know I've never really "hated" school until now. After 3 years of college I finally feel like I've hit my WALL. I would say that this by far has been my hardest semester yet! I have started clinicals at Dixie Regional in St. George and let me tell you that getting up at 3:30 in the morning, and leaving Cedar at 4:30 to get there in time & working all day definately is crampin my style! haha. I have a test tomorrow and here I am blogging....no further comment! Sorry for those of you to read my lame life, but I just needed to get it all out. Anyway Jimmy snapped these pictures while I was studying one night and this is pretty much what our nights look like-SAD! *It'll all be worth it in the end right???
